Just 4% of British businesses believe expanding Heathrow would benefit their business, according to a new survey by Woodnewton and Continental Research for RestoreUK. The survey - the first of business attitudes to expansion plans - also shows that 37% of businesses prefer the idea of a fast rail link from London to the North.Read more. Full results.

The Internet and International Development (October 2008)
A new report by Woodnewton points to the importance of a country's web presence in attracting inward investment and promoting international trade. Based on a survey of selected government websites and portals, it suggests that the relative wealth or size of a country need not be a barrier to effective use of the web. It highlights some of the best - and worst - of international practice. The report also proposes criteria for formal assessment of international websites. Download the report.

Public Attitudes to Aviation and Climate Chanage (December 2007)
A report for Restore UK and GreenPeace on public awareness of and attitudes towards the environment and climate change, and the implications for aviation policy. It shows that while most people want to fly, only a quarter of the public want to see aviation capacity expand. The report explores the scope for government to inform and lead public opinion on reducing aviation demand, for example relfectin gthe high level of support for a high-speed rail link to the north over expansion of Heathrow.
